NEW PROVIDENCE - Eleuthera & Harbour Island

New Providence isn't about deep exploration or chasing pelagics. This is a genuinely charming, shallow wreck dive, tailor-made for those sunny Eleuthera afternoons. We love how the sunlight filters through the surface, illuminating the broken hull, turning the rust into shades of orange and gold. It’s an old freighter, nothing dramatic like a tanker, but it’s remarkably intact for its depth, resting on a sandy bottom at just 5 metres. Our favourite part is swimming through the cargo holds; they’re wide open, easy to navigate, and full of glass sweepers darting in and out of the shadows. Look closely, and you’ll spot tiny blennies peering from crevices and gobies perched on the deck plates. It’s perfect for new divers getting their first taste of wreck diving, or for photographers who want endless natural light. The lack of current usually means you can spend ages just hovering, watching the small parrotfish graze on algae, feeling the gentle sway of the boat above. We'd suggest going in the late morning when the sun is high for the best light penetration.
