Gabriella - Naples & Campania

The Gabriella wreck off Naples is a real charmer. We love a shallow wreck with a story, and this one delivers. Lying upright in just 13 metres, she’s perfectly preserved for such an accessible site, almost like she just decided to take a nap on the seabed. You can spend a good chunk of a dive exploring her bow and stern, poking around the deck structures, and imagining life aboard. What makes Gabriella so special for us is the way the Mediterranean marine life has completely taken over. Schools of damselfish shimmer around the mast, while friendly groupers often peer out from shadowy crevices. Look closely and you’ll spot nudibranchs inching their way across the hull, and octopuses are surprisingly common finds tucked away in the darker corners. It’s a photographer’s dream, with plenty of natural light even on overcast days, making for some gorgeous wide-angle shots. We’d suggest going early in the morning for the best light and fewer boats, especially in summer. It’s a gentle dive, really suited to anyone comfortable in open water, making it a fantastic second dive or a relaxed day out.
