S COLUMB - Gozo

S Columb, a tug vessel that ran ashore on the Marga Messai breakwater, is now a scattering of wreckage rather than a whole ship. It’s pretty broken up, making it more of an archaeological treasure hunt than a penetration dive. At a shallow 13 metres, it’s a good spot for a relaxed potter around, even if you’re newer to wreck diving. We often find schooling juvenile barracuda here, and the resident groupers have made themselves quite at home amongst the twisted metal. It’s a good choice when you want a straightforward dive that still offers interesting structure to explore.
