Santa Marija Point - Gozo

Santa Marija Point is one of those Gozo dives that often gets overlooked, but it’s a solid option when other spots are too exposed. We usually find it’s a good call on days with a bit of northwesterly chop. Drop in and you’re looking at a gentle slope, mostly rubble and rock, but it’s home to more than you’d expect. Keep an eye out for painted combers and ornate wrasse darting around the boulders. We've even spotted a loggerhead turtle here a couple of times, usually just cruising past in the blue. It’s a relaxed dive, perfect if you’re after an easy hour underwater without battling conditions, or if you want to spend time hunting for Mediterranean slipper lobsters tucked into crevices.
