DC3 - Kas & Kekova

The DC3 is a genuine highlight when diving around Kas. This particular wreck, a C-47 transport plane, was sunk intentionally back in 2009 to create an artificial reef. It sits upright on the seabed at around 22-28 metres, so it’s accessible for Advanced Open Water divers and offers plenty of bottom time. What we really appreciate here is how well preserved it is – you can still clearly make out the cockpit, the fuselage, and even the engines. Schools of glasseye fish shimmer in the shadows of the wings, and nudibranchs often graze on the sponges that have started to colonise the metal. Keep an eye out for moray eels tucked into crevices. It’s a compelling site, especially for wreck enthusiasts, without being overly challenging.
