POINTE MARGUERITE - New Brunswick & Bay of Fundy

Pointe Marguerite isn’t your typical Bay of Fundy dive. Forget the kelp forests and the curious seals for a moment. Here, we’re diving a historical wreck, a tug that met its unfortunate end in ’78, crushed between two other vessels. It's a sombre thought as you descend, knowing two lives were lost here. The wreck itself sits at a respectable 52 meters, so this is one for the experienced. You’re looking at a deeper, darker dive, often with visibility that asks you to get close and personal. We love the way the wreck has settled, almost listing, creating intriguing swim-throughs and overhangs. Keep an eye out for the resident wolf eels - they often tuck themselves into the engine room, and our favourite time to spot them is just after slack tide, when the current starts to pick up slightly. That’s also when the anemones seem to bloom most vibrantly, painting the rust in unexpected colours. It’s a quiet, reflective dive, perfect for those who appreciate maritime history and the slow reclamation of steel by the ocean.
