Flamingo Beach: New Entry - Daymaniyat Islands
Flamingo Beach: New Entry at the Daymaniyat Islands is one of those sites we always try to hit, especially on a calm morning. We love dropping in here right as the sun starts to properly warm the water, making the corals glow. The real draw for us isn't just the sheer number of species-153 is a decent tally-but the sense of quiet exploration you get. You’re not rushing here. We like to take our time drifting along, spotting the more unusual suspects like the Inversed Fiddler Crab tucked away, or the delicate Cloth-of-Gold Cone Snail making its slow path. The corals themselves are varied, from the big structures of Corrugated and Honeycomb coral to the more intricate Starry Petaloid and Pavona. Keep an eye out for the Queen Coris darting about, or the subtle Pinkfish grazing. This site really suits divers who enjoy a slower pace, who like to properly observe the smaller things rather than just ticking off big pelagics. It’s a site for photographers and naturalists, where patience is rewarded.
