HTMS CHONBURI - Koh Rong Archipelago

The HTMS Chonburi, sunk in 2007, isn't some ancient relic, but it’s still one of our favourite wreck dives in the Koh Rong Archipelago. Sitting upright and intact at a modest 12 metres, it’s an ideal site for anyone keen to explore inside a wreck without venturing too deep. We love how light still filters through the windows and doorways, illuminating schools of snapper that swirl in the corridors. You can easily swim through the bridge, engine room, and crew quarters, feeling the shift in temperature as you move deeper inside. Keep an eye out for moray eels tucked into the pipes and lionfish fanning their fins near the deck guns. The visibility here can be a bit variable, so we'd suggest going on a calm morning for the best chance to see the full length of the destroyer emerging from the blue. It’s a proper dive, offering both the thrill of penetration and a lively artificial reef, all within recreational limits.
