Fish In Air Bunaken - Sulawesi
The team at Fish In Air Bunaken are a friendly bunch, focused on solid PADI instruction and some seriously good diving. We love that they’re right there in the heart of Bunaken National Park, putting you minutes from walls that just drop forever into the blue. It’s a great pick for newer divers looking to get certified, or anyone wanting to hone their skills without feeling rushed. Our favourite part about diving with Fish In Air is their commitment to smaller groups. You often get a dive guide all to yourself, which means more time spotting pygmy seahorses on a gorgonian or lingering with a passing turtle without feeling like you’re holding up the group. They know these reefs inside out. We’d suggest chatting with them about the tides; hitting Lekuan 1, 2, or 3 on an incoming tide can mean easier drift dives and better visibility, sometimes pushing 30 metres. The sound of the current humming past those giant sponges is something else. Expect to see blacktip reef sharks cruise by and schools of fusiliers so thick they momentarily block out the sun. It’s proper wall diving, big and bold.
