Dari Laut (Wreck) - Anilao

The Dari Laut wreck offers a surprisingly intimate dive, especially for a site that’s often overlooked in Anilao. Sunk intentionally in 2004 as an artificial reef, it’s not some ancient relic, but rather a small fishing boat now completely reclaimed by the ocean. We love how accessible it is, sitting upright on a sandy bottom at 25 metres. You can fin right into the wheelhouse, feeling the cool shadow as you pass inside, or cruise along the deck where lionfish often hover, their venomous spines fanned out. It’s an easy dive, perfect for those new to wreck exploration or anyone wanting a relaxed second or third dive of the day. The current is usually mild, letting you take your time examining the growth on the hull, a thick carpet of soft corals and sponges that shimmer with tiny, iridescent glassfish. Look closer, and you'll spot nudibranchs, often some colourful *Chromodoris magnifica*, inching across the metal. Our favourite part? The sheer volume of juvenile fish darting in and out of every nook and cranny. It's less about grand scale and more about the thriving micro-ecosystem that's made this little boat home. Go early, before the other boats arrive, and you might have it all to yourself.
