VIVA ANTIPOLO VII - Anilao

Viva Antipolo VII is a truly special Anilao wreck, one we always try to hit. It’s a ferry, sunk back in '95, and it’s now lying upright in about 42 metres. We love that it’s still so intact; you can really make out the bridge, the passenger decks, and even the mast, which is often swarming with schools of yellowtail fusiliers. Dropping down, the first thing you notice is the sheer scale, the hull reaching up towards you through the blue. Penetration is possible for experienced wreck divers, with the engine room and some cabins accessible, though always go with a guide who knows the layout. Our favourite part is lingering on the bow, watching the resident lionfish patrol their territory and the colourful nudibranchs crawling across the coral-encrusted railings. Visibility here can vary, but on a good day, the light plays beautifully through the superstructure. It’s a deep dive, so it suits those comfortable with extended bottom times and a solid comfort level with their buoyancy. If you’re into proper wreck exploration, this one’s a must.
