An Phú 168 - Nha Trang
An Phú 168 isn’t just a wreck, it’s a story, and we love how accessible it is for divers who want to get a feel for Nha Trang’s underwater history. This isn't some deep, dark mystery; the stern sits upright in a very polite 9 metres, so you’ve got plenty of bottom time to poke around. The wreck itself, a Vietnamese cargo ship, has a real presence. You can swim through the gaping holds, watching schooling rabbitfish flicker in and out of the shadows cast by the hull. It’s a great spot for macro life, too. Keep an eye out for tiny porcelain crabs hiding in the anemones that have taken root on the metalwork, and we’ve often spotted ornate ghost pipefish camouflaged against the encrusting corals. The visibility here can vary, but on a good day, with the sun filtering down, the light play inside the wreck is genuinely beautiful. Our tip? Go early in the morning before any crowds arrive; the site feels more atmospheric then, and the light is usually at its best. It’s perfect for newer wreck divers or photographers keen on a leisurely exploration.

Located in the popular diving destination of Nha Trang, the An Phú 168 is a shallow wreck that offers an intriguing dive. The history of this vessel and the circumstances of its sinking are not well-documented, adding a layer of mystery to the site. Resting at just 9 meters, it's an accessible dive for all certification levels. The wreck is classified as 'dangerous,' which suggests divers should exercise caution around potentially sharp or unstable sections of the hull.
