HERMES - North Shore

The Hermes, resting on Bermuda’s North Shore, is one of our favorite wreck dives, especially for those looking to really get *inside* a vessel. This isn't just a pile of metal; it’s a thoughtfully scuttled cargo ship, going down in 1984, meaning it's had plenty of time to integrate with the reef. Dropping onto her deck at 12 meters, you can feel the history. The real draw here is the penetration – the cargo holds are wide open, inviting you in. We love swimming through the massive internal spaces, where shafts of light pierce the gloom, illuminating schools of snapper that swirl around the bulkheads. Outside, the superstructure is draped in soft corals, and you’ll often spot green morays peering from nooks and crannies. It's a relaxed dive, usually with mild currents, making it perfect for newer wreck enthusiasts or photographers who want time to compose shots without fighting a surge. Try to hit it on a sunny day; the light play inside the holds is spectacular.
