KATE - North Shore

The *Kate*, a 61-meter iron steamer, has rested on Bermuda’s North Shore since 1878. At a consistent 11 meters, it's a relaxed dive, good for getting comfortable with wreck diving without battling depth. We often find schooling fish here, like grunts and snappers, hanging around the deeper parts of the hull, and the occasional green moray eel peeking from a crevice. The wreck itself is quite broken up after all these years, but you can still make out the general shape of the ship, and it’s always interesting to see how the ocean reclaims these old vessels. Best to go on a day with calm seas; it makes the swim out much more pleasant.
