TAUNTON - North Shore

The Taunton, a freighter that went down in 1920, is a proper North Shore wreck at just 10 meters. It’s a good spot for a relaxed dive, especially if you like getting up close with a bit of history without feeling rushed. We often see schools of sergeant majors weaving through the remains of the hull, and the occasional parrotfish grazing on algae that’s taken hold. Because it’s so shallow, you get plenty of light penetrating the wreck, which makes for some great photography as you explore the bow and stern sections. It’s a solid choice for newer wreck divers or anyone looking for a chill afternoon dip.
