La Pared - Caribbean Coast

The Germania wreck holds a real allure for us, not least because you can actually touch a piece of history in such shallow water. Dropping down to just 8 metres, near Salvador’s iconic Barra lighthouse, it’s a site that proves you don't need depth for drama. We love how the hull is broken up, exposing boilers and the mast, letting sunlight filter into the structure. You’ll weave through the skeletal remains, spotting schools of surgeonfish darting through the rusted metal. Look closely, and you might find a moray eel peering out from a crevice. It’s a perfect spot for divers who appreciate the story behind a dive, and for photographers wanting to capture light and shadow play on an old ship.
