Bula Tula - Taveuni & Somosomo Strait
Bula Tula always delivers. We love the twin pinnacles, which start just a few metres below the surface and plummet to a ridge at 20 metres. There's a real joy in drifting through the swim-throughs and overhangs here, feeling the subtle tug of the outgoing tide pulling you gently along. Keep an eye out for leaf scorpionfish camouflaged on the soft corals – they’re masters of disguise. The walls are a riot of soft corals, pulsing gently in the current, and you’ll often spot a reef shark cruising past. It’s a site that rewards taking your time, especially if you enjoy searching for smaller critters like nudibranchs and pygmy gobies. We think Bula Tula is a fantastic dive for almost anyone, from those still building their confidence to seasoned macro photographers.
