Deep Boulder Thila - Vaavu Atoll

Deep Boulder Thila in Vaavu Atoll offers a relaxed drift around a single, substantial pinnacle. We found it’s a good spot for easing back into things or for newer divers getting comfortable with Maldivian currents. The main attraction here is often the schools of fusiliers, sometimes so thick they create a shimmering wall, with a few inquisitive reef sharks patrolling the edges. It’s not a dramatic drop-off, more of a gentle slope with scattered coral patches, but the fish life can be surprisingly active, especially on an incoming tide.
