Oseava Wreck - Dubrovnik & South Coast

The Oseava Wreck off Dubrovnik is our pick for a deeper wreck dive with some genuine history behind it. You’ll be dropping onto the remains of an Austro-Hungarian cargo ship, sunk during World War I, and even if you're not a history buff, the sheer atmosphere of the place is captivating. We love how the wreck is well broken up, scattered across the seabed, rather than one big structure. It means you’re constantly finding new sections – a twisted davit here, a section of hull there – each piece draped in gorgonian fans and sponges. Visibility here can be excellent, particularly outside of peak summer, and you’ll see clouds of small damselfish flitting through the beams and plating. Keep an eye out for conger eels tucked into any dark crevice; they’re quite common and often surprisingly large. While it’s a reasonably deep dive, typically around 30-40 meters, the lack of strong currents usually makes it manageable for advanced divers comfortable with depth. If you're looking for something beyond the usual reef, the Oseava delivers that feeling of discovery.
