AVALA - Kornati Islands

Avala, in the Kornati Islands, is a shallow wreck site, sitting at a max depth of 10m. This makes it a great spot for newer divers or those looking for a longer bottom time. The wreck itself is a motor vessel, reportedly sunk after a dust explosion, and it’s now thoroughly encrusted with sponges and hydroids. You can poke around the remains of the superstructure, where schools of damselfish often hang out, darting into the shadows as you approach. Keep an eye out for blennies perched on the metalwork and the occasional small octopus tucked into a crevice. It’s not a massive wreck, but it’s an easy, relaxing dive with plenty to observe.
