ETRUSCO - Naples & Campania

The Etrusco is a deep one, no doubt about it. Dropping to 60 metres, this motor vessel is strictly for experienced technical divers comfortable with depths and decompression. We love it for its sheer scale and the way the Mediterranean has claimed it since it went down in 1971. You hit the deck around 50 metres, and from there, it's a slow descent down the superstructure to the props. What truly sets the Etrusco apart for us is the visible history. Built in 1929, you can still trace the lines of its working life, now draped in vibrant gorgonians and sponges. Look for the schools of bigeye tuna circling the mast, or the occasional conger eel peeking from a porthole. Our favourite time to dive it is early morning, before any current picks up, when the light filters down through the blue and gives the whole wreck an ethereal glow. Visibility can vary, but on a good day, it’s an incredible, humbling dive into the past.
