STABIA I (POSSIBLY) - Naples & Campania

The Stabia I, or what we believe to be her, rests in just 7 metres of water, making her a really accessible wreck. This motor vessel, an 81-metre long beast built in 1948, found her final resting place in 1979 and now lies broken into several large sections. We found her superstructure has largely collapsed, but you can still make out the bow and stern sections quite clearly. Because she’s so shallow, light penetrates well, illuminating the structure where groupers and moray eels have made themselves at home. It’s a great dive for anyone keen to explore a substantial wreck without the need for deep diving certs, perfect for extending your bottom time and poking into every crevice.
