Dive Club Port Ghalib - Deep South
The team at Dive Club Port Ghalib are our go-to for diving the Deep South. They’re based right in Port Ghalib marina, which means easy access to the boats and a buzzing atmosphere before and after dives. We love that they focus heavily on day trips to those iconic southern sites like Elphinstone and Daedalus, meaning less time travelling and more time in the water. They’re a PADI 5 Star centre, so expect well-organised courses and good standards, but for us, their real strength lies in guided diving for certified divers. We’ve always found their guides to be sharp, with an excellent eye for spotting the smaller stuff, even on drift dives. You'll often find yourself kicking along a wall with a guide pointing out a ghost pipefish you'd have undoubtedly missed. Our favourite trips with them have always been to Sha'ab Samadai, commonly known as Dolphin House, where the chance of a spinner dolphin encounter is always high. They know the area intimately, understanding when and where to be for the best chance of a respectful interaction. Just remember the currents can pick up, especially around the exposed reefs. If you’re looking to hit the big sites without the liveaboard commitment, Dive Club Port Ghalib are a solid choice.
