Karlas Garden - Sulawesi

Mexico Rocks is a winner for a relaxed, shallow dive, especially if you’re keen on seeing reef architecture up close. We love that it’s usually calm, making it a comfortable experience if you're new to the local conditions or just want an easy cruise. The star here is the sheer number of boulder corals, massive structures that create these intricate swim-throughs and overhangs. It feels like navigating a miniature underwater city. You’ll find a surprising amount of life tucked into those formations. We've often spotted bright Northern Neon Gobies perched on the coral, and look out for Little Post Horn Squid pulsing over the sand. Staghorn and Elliptical Star corals dominate, offering shelter to Doctorfish and schools of Redear Herring. Visibility generally hovers around 15m, plenty good for appreciating the details. It's a superb pick for photographers wanting to capture macro subjects without fighting depth or current, or for anyone who enjoys a peaceful drift over a unique reefscape.
