Pangalisan - Sulawesi

Pangalisan is a spot we keep coming back to in Sulawesi. It's not the grand, dramatic wall dive you might find elsewhere, but instead offers a gentle drift over truly impressive staghorn coral fields. Seriously, they stretch on and on, some of the most extensive we’ve seen, providing shelter for a constant parade of small reef fish. Our pick for this site is definitely nudibranch hunting – the bicolor nudibranchs here are particularly vibrant, almost fluorescent against the coral. We also often spot hound needlefish gliding just beneath the surface, slender and quick. This is a wonderfully relaxed dive, perfect for photographers or anyone who just wants to soak in the beauty of a healthy, sprawling reef system without battling any serious current.
