Pinnacle 2 - Sulawesi

Serpent Rock is one of our favourite Poor Knights spots, especially when a bit of surge rolls through. It’s an oddly shaped island above water, but underwater, the magic really happens. We love dropping down onto those steep, encrusted walls. They’re absolutely packed with life, from tiny nudibranchs, if you’ve got the eyes for them, to the chunky scorpionfish just blending in. The trick here is to not get too tunnel-visioned on the wall. Take a moment, turn around, and look out into the blue. That’s where the real show often unfolds. We’ve seen incredible shoaling action, schools of yellowtail or mackerel, with kingfish or even a marlin ghosting in from the depths. Finding that pressure point where the currents meet is key; that’s where the hunters gather. Max depth is around 20 metres, so it’s a site most divers can comfortably explore. It’s perfect for those who appreciate both macro life and the chance of spotting pelagics, especially when the visibility is good.
