Tanjung Kopi - Sulawesi

Tanjung Kopi, tucked away on Manado Tua's east coast, really is a photographer's dream. We love how the sloping plateau leads to that deep wall, dropping away to 80 metres or more. It gives you options. You can spend time on the shallower coral garden, where we've seen everything from tiny pygmy gobies to schooling fusiliers, or you can head deeper along the wall. The wall itself is gorgeous, covered in vibrant soft corals and sea fans. Keep an eye out for Lubbock's wrasse darting in and out, and we've spotted fluted clams tucked into crevices. The visibility here is often fantastic, letting you appreciate the scale of the drop-off. Our favourite time to dive Tanjung Kopi is late morning, when the sun hits the wall just right, illuminating the colours. It's a relaxed dive, generally without strong currents, so it suits divers who want to take their time and really soak it all in.
