Turtle Bay Divers - Perhentian Islands
Turtle Bay Divers. We’ve had some cracking dives with these guys. They’re based right on the beach at Perhentian Kecil, which means you’re rolling out of bed and onto the boat in minutes. What we really rate about Turtle Bay is their instructors – they’re a multilingual bunch and genuinely passionate, not just punching clocks. We've often seen them take that extra time with newer divers, making sure everyone feels solid before hitting the deeper stuff. They’re a great pick if you’re looking to get certified, especially if you want options beyond just PADI; they do TDI, SSI, and a whole host of others. We’d suggest booking ahead in peak season, which is roughly June to August. Those boats fill up fast, particularly for the morning trips out to places like Sugar Wreck or the closer reefs where you might spot a reef shark cruising past the bommies. They run trips to Redang too, but for us, the Perhentian sites are the real draw, offering fantastic visibility when the conditions align, often a good 20 metres in the shoulder seasons.
