HTMS Prab 741, Wreck - Gulf of Thailand

The HTMS Prab, a former patrol boat, sits upright in the Gulf at a very comfortable 20 metres. We love it because it’s surprisingly intact for its age, a proper penetrable wreck without being too demanding. You can fin right through the wheelhouse, seeing the gauges still in place, then drop down into the engine room, which always feels a bit eerie, like the crew just stepped out for a minute. It’s an excellent spot for newer wreck divers looking to get a feel for overhead environments. There's plenty of natural light filtering in, so you never feel truly enclosed. Fusiliers school in thick clouds over the bow, and we often spot substantial groupers tucked under the stern. Keep an eye out for batfish circling the mast, they’re usually quite curious. The Prab doesn't throw any curveballs, making it our pick for a relaxed afternoon dive, especially when the currents are mild, which they usually are here.
