Scuba Quest - Similan Islands
The team at Scuba Quest really nails the liveaboard experience out to the Similans. We appreciate their no-nonsense approach to guiding, making sure you’re always in the best position to see the action without feeling herded. They’ve got a knack for finding the elusive critters, often pointing out ornate ghost pipefish or a well-camouflaged frogfish tucked into a coral head that we’d have swum right past. Our favourite part about diving with Scuba Quest is their focus on those dawn dives. Getting in the water before the day boats arrive means you often have sites like Elephant Head Rock almost to yourself. We’ve seen leopard sharks cruising the sand flats there on more than one occasion, unbothered by other divers. It’s also a great operation for less experienced divers looking to step up their game, with PADI, SSI, and CMAS options. Their instructors are patient and calm, really helping build confidence, especially when those currents pick up a bit around Koh Bon. Plus, the food on their boats is always a highlight; proper Thai cooking that hits the spot after a few dives.
