Similan Dive Center - Similan Islands
The team at Similan Dive Center are your go-to for really nailing the Similan Islands, particularly if you’re looking for a liveaboard experience. They’ve got a knack for putting together trips that hit the sweet spots like Richelieu Rock and Koh Bon, places we always recommend for a proper Andaman Sea adventure. If you’re serious about seeing the Similans properly, without the rush of a day trip, this is your crew. We love their commitment to liveaboards because, honestly, that’s the best way to dive this region. Imagine waking up to that glassy water, the jungle-covered islands just beginning to glow. Our favourite trips with them have always involved multiple dives at sites like Elephant Head Rock, letting you truly explore those granite swim-throughs without feeling hurried. Keep an eye out for the big stuff there; we’ve had some cracking encounters with reef sharks cruising through the deeper channels. Visibility around the Similans can be epic, sometimes pushing 30 metres, especially if you catch the tail end of the high season in May. SSI Open Water and PADI Open Water are on offer, but we’d suggest you’re at least Advanced Open Water certified to really get the most out of the deeper pinnacles and potential currents. They don't do equipment rental, so bring your own or plan accordingly.
