COLOMBO - Aruba Leeward Coast

The Colombo wreck sits deep, a proper technical dive at 60 metres, so this isn't for your casual reef hopper. We love it because it’s a bit of a mystery, a sailing vessel that went down in '76 after an engine room fire. Finding her was a challenge back then, and honestly, it still feels like a real accomplishment when you descend onto her deck. You'll find the wreck relatively intact, though time and depth have taken their toll. Penetration is possible for experienced wreck divers; the old engine room, where the fire reportedly started, is a fascinating but silty exploration. Expect to see resident groupers eyeing you from shadowed doorways, while schools of jacks often swirl above the mast. The low light at this depth gives everything an ethereal, almost ghostly feel. It's a dive that rewards careful planning and respect for the deep.
