The Washing Machine in Exuma Cays is exactly what it sounds like, a fun, frothy drift that tumbles you gently over a sandy bottom. You’re pushed through a narrow cut between islands, the current swirling you around like a sock in the spin cycle, hence the name. It’s not a deep dive, maybe 15 metres at most, but it’s a brilliant introduction to drift diving for beginners, or just a really enjoyable, low-effort dive for anyone looking for a bit of a ride. We often see reef sharks cruising the edges and plenty of stingrays buried in the sand as you glide past. Perfect for a mellow afternoon.
