Boka Sami - Curaçao Southeast

Boka Sami is one of those sites we always recommend to newer divers who want to stretch their wings a bit, but honestly, it’s a solid choice for anyone. Entry is easy from shore, just a short walk from the parking lot, and the sand slope takes you gently down. We’ve had some cracking dives here, finding so many cool little creatures tucked into the rubble and cracks. Keep your eyes peeled for Sharpnose Pufferfish darting about and you’re almost guaranteed to spot a Spotted Trunkfish or two. The real magic for us, though, is how much life packs into the shallows. We love poking around at 10 to 15 metres, where the corals transition from scattered bommies to a more continuous reef. You’ll see plenty of Roughlip Cardinalfish peeking out from under ledges, and the Banded Basslets are always a joy to watch flitting through the sponges. If you take your time, you might even spot a shy Hamlet or a striking Crosshatch Bass. It's a great spot for photographers too, especially with the decent light and generally mild conditions. Our favourite tip? Go early to avoid any crowds and get that morning light filtering through the water.
