Go West Diving - Curaçao Southeast

Go West Diving, down in Curaçao's southeast, always feels like coming home. We love a site that delivers consistently, and this one does. Drop in, and you’re immediately greeted by the sheer scale of the coral, particularly the Blushing Star Coral and those massive Boulder Brain Coral formations; they really give the place a solid, established feel. We often spot Caribbean Chestnut Morays peeking from crevices, and the mix of French Grunts and Yellowtail Parrotfish adds a lovely splash of everyday colour. The reef here just feels healthy, a bustling neighbourhood of reef fish going about their business. Our favourite time to dive Go West is mid-morning, just after the first boats but before the lunch rush. That’s when the light really hits the reef, illuminating those Sergeant-majors and Cardinal Soldierfish schooling near the ledges. Keep an eye out for the smaller stuff too, like the Saddled Blenny, sometimes nestled right on a coral head, or a tiny Red Clingfish clinging to a gorgonian. It’s a great dive for anyone who appreciates a healthy reef and wants to relax into a dive rather than fight a current. You get a good chance to spot a Hawksbill Turtle here, too, often just cruising over the deeper sections. It’s not a thrill-a-minute, but it’s a genuinely solid, enjoyable dive every time.
