Oswaldo's Drop Off - Curaçao Southeast

Oswaldo's Drop Off is one of those Curaçao sites we always try to hit, especially if the conditions are good. It's got that classic Caribbean vibe, but it just feels a bit more alive, a bit more dramatic than some of its neighbours. You get a good mix here, from the shallow reef that’s perfect for a long safety stop, absolutely humming with wrasse and parrotfish, to the wall itself. The real show, though, is on the drop-off. We love to drift along, letting the current do some of the work, keeping an eye out into the blue for anything cruising by. Trumpetfish often hang vertically near the wall, blending in perfectly, and we’ve spotted plenty of reef scorpionfish tucked into crevices. The Bicolor Basslets are always a treat, flitting around the coral heads. If you're lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of the rarer Blueman or an Orca, but even without the big stuff, the sheer density of everyday reef fish is what keeps us coming back. Look for the tiny Masked Gobies perched on sponges. This site really shines for divers who appreciate a slow drift and want to soak in the details of a healthy reef. It’s not about grand pelagic encounters every time, but about the consistent, vibrant reef life.
