Superior Producer - Curaçao Southeast

The Superior Producer is a staple for a reason. We think it’s one of the Caribbean’s most approachable wrecks, sitting upright on a sandy bottom at 30 metres. Dropping down, you’ll first spot the mast, then the bridge, cargo holds, and stern all come into clear focus. It’s totally encrusted now – a testament to its 40-plus years on the seabed – with sponges and corals providing homes for grunts, Glasseye Snappers, and fairy basslets flitting in and out of the superstructure. Our favourite part is swimming through the cargo holds; the light filters in from above, illuminating schools of baitfish that swirl around like liquid silver. The bow is a great spot to look for juvenile drum fish hiding in crevices. We’d suggest going in the morning, before the crowds, to truly appreciate the scale and the quiet hum of marine life that has made this freighter its own. Just watch for strong currents here sometimes; it can make the descent a bit of a workout, but it’s always worth it.
