Why dive here
With 256+ marine species recorded in the area - including barracuda, dolphins, dwarf minke whales, humpback whales and manta rays - OSKA FLOA offers some of Cabrits & Northern Coast's richest wreck diving. Water sits around 27°C.
Oska Floa isn't your typical Caribbean deep wreck. This carrier vessel ran aground during Hurricane Hugo back in '89, a pretty powerful storm that rearranged a lot of things, including this ship. Now, it sits practically on the surface, maxing out at four metres, which makes it an ideal spot for pretty much anyone. We love how the shallow depth lets you really take your time, exploring the twisted metal and sun-dappled compartments. Light pours in everywhere, illuminating schools of tiny baitfish that shimmer between the corroded bulkheads. You can poke your head into the old bridge, imagining the chaos of that hurricane, or fin gently over the deck where the anchor chain still lies, encrusted with sponge. Look closely and you’ll find parrotfish grazing on algae-covered plating, and we’ve often spotted juvenile barracuda lurking in the shadows of the engine room. It’s a gentle, reflective dive, perfect for a long safety stop or just a lazy afternoon under the waves, with a wreck to call your own.
