Eagle Ray Canyon - Ambergris Caye

Eagle Ray Canyon, inside the Hol Chan Marine Reserve, lives up to its name. We’ve had dives here where we’ve seen half a dozen spotted eagle rays cruising through the channel, wingtips almost brushing the coral walls. It's not just rays, though; keep an eye out for massive groupers lurking under ledges and nurse sharks snoozing in the sand. The site drops to about 80 feet, with plenty of big snappers darting around the healthy coral structures. It’s a consistently good dive, especially if you’re hoping for a ray encounter, and generally a relaxed drift suitable for most experience levels.
