Punta Arena Caverns - Ambergris Caye

Punta Arena Caverns, or "Small Cut" as some of the local guides call it, is a maze of coral canyons and swim-throughs just off Ambergris Caye. You're navigating through a genuine underwater labyrinth here, with deep cuts in the reef creating narrow passages and small caverns that open out onto sandy channels. It’s a compelling site for divers who enjoy exploring unique topography rather than just looking for big pelagics. Keep an eye out for nurse sharks tucked into crevices and the usual reef fish darting through the light shafts. The currents can pick up a bit, so it's best suited for those comfortable with drift diving.
