Corridas - Caribbean Coast

Heartbreak Ridge is one of those sites we always come back to, and it’s not because it’s easy. It’s definitely not. Dropping down to 26 metres, the reef here is a bustling, colourful slope. We love the way the deep water black coral trees seem to reach out from the shadows, their branches thick and gnarled. You’ll spot Almaco jacks gliding past, easily two feet long, their silvery bodies catching the light as they patrol the edge of the reef. We’d suggest hitting this one earlier in the day if you can, before the breeze picks up; it makes the surface interval much more comfortable. Keep an eye out for trumpetfish hanging vertically, perfectly camouflaged among the gorgonians, and the tiny, curious puffcheek blennies peeking from their holes. If you’re comfortable with a bit of depth and appreciate a site that feels a touch wilder than most, Heartbreak Ridge will deliver. It's an excellent choice for experienced divers looking for dramatic topography and a good chance to see larger pelagics.
