Euston Reef - Taveuni & Somosomo Strait
The Cluster Reefs in Alaska give you a genuine taste of cold-water diving, not just the usual tropical fare. Descending into these kelp forests, you’ll quickly notice the impressive size of some of the invertebrates; sunflower stars can be huge here, really putting on a show. We’ve had some cracking encounters with sidestriped and roughpatch shrimp picking their way across the rocks, and it's always a treat to spot a blackbelly eelpout tucked into a crevice. This is a dive for those who appreciate the subtle beauty of a robust ecosystem, ideal for photographers who enjoy macro subjects and a bit of a challenge.
