TE KAIBUKENAKAWA - Christmas Island (Kiritimati)

Te Kaibukenakawa sits in the island's lagoon, a very shallow wreck in about five metres of water. It's a wooden fishing boat, partially broken up now, but still very much a wreck, not just debris. The clear lagoon water means you’ll easily make out the hull structure, even from the surface. We've seen a lot of small reef fish taking shelter in the timbers, and it’s a great spot to practice wreck penetration, or just get comfortable diving around a man-made structure. Visibility is usually excellent, making it a good choice for newer divers or those who prefer less depth.
