With 292+ marine species recorded in the area - including barracuda, blacktip reef sharks, grey reef sharks, sperm whales and whitetip reef sharks - Grand Central Station offers some of Gizo & Western Province's richest diving.
Grand Central Station definitely lives up to its name. We're talking about a channel where a few different reef systems meet, and the current can really rip through here. That movement brings in the big stuff – you'll often see schools of barracuda and dogtooth tuna patrolling, and grey reef sharks are a common sight. We've also spotted eagle rays cruising by more than once. It’s a drift dive, best for divers comfortable with current, letting you glide past coral-encrusted pinnacles where you might spot a snakehead cowrie clinging on.
