Lumbaria Island - Gizo & Western Province

Lumbaria Island offers a gentle entry into Gizo’s underwater world, a perfect spot for those getting comfortable with their buoyancy or keen on a long, relaxed potter. The maximum depth of 9 meters keeps things bright, often illuminating the resident schools of snapper and fusiliers that hang around the shallow coral bommies. We’ve found it’s a good place to spot smaller nudibranchs and flatworms if you’re patient and keep an eye on the rubble patches. It’s certainly not a drift dive, but for a calm afternoon beneath the waves, Lumbaria delivers.
