With 292+ marine species recorded in the area - including barracuda, blacktip reef sharks, grey reef sharks, sperm whales and whitetip reef sharks - The Pinnacle offers some of Gizo & Western Province's richest pinnacle diving.
The Pinnacle in Gizo is exactly what it sounds like – a standalone reef rising from the deeper blue. We’ve found it’s a spot where the pelagics often cruise past, making for some exciting wide-angle photography. Expect to see dogtooth tuna patrolling the edges and, if you’re lucky, a few grey reef sharks gliding through. The main structure is a nice home for schooling fusiliers and bannerfish, which adds a bit of colour. It’s a good intermediate dive, probably best for those who enjoy a bit of current and keeping an eye out for bigger fish.
