The Pond - Gizo & Western Province

The Pond, near Gizo, is exactly what it sounds like – a calm, sheltered spot perfect for newer divers or a relaxed second dive. It’s a shallow bowl, bottoming out around 21 metres, with plenty of smaller reef fish darting amongst the coral bommies. We’ve spotted everything from curious anemonefish to small reef sharks cruising lazily along the bottom. The visibility here is usually very reliable, making it an excellent place to practice buoyancy or just unwind in the warm Solomon Islands water.
