With 262+ marine species recorded in the area - including bull sharks, humpback whales, seahorses, sea turtles and clownfish - Makiminato offers some of Okinawa Main Island's richest diving.
Makiminato is a relaxed dive, good for new divers or those refreshing their skills. It's a sandy bottom site, shallow at 11 metres, with scattered rocks and smaller coral formations. Look out for the usual reef fish taking shelter here. It’s a convenient shore dive, easy to access for a quick dip.
