South to South, off Okinawa Main Island, is a reliable spot for newer divers, maxing out at a comfortable 16 meters. It’s a good place to get your bearings, offering a gentle introduction to Okinawan diving without any surprises. We often find juvenile reef fish sheltering among the coral patches, and the sandy bottom is worth a close look for gobies and blennies. It’s not the most dramatic reef out there, but it’s calm, predictable, and lets you focus on your buoyancy while enjoying the local inhabitants.
