比賽池 - Northeast Coast

比賽池, or Competition Pool, on Taiwan’s Northeast Coast, is a good spot for a relaxed dive if you’re looking to get wet without much fuss. It's a shore entry, usually pretty calm, making it a decent choice for shaking off the rust or getting some practice in. We’ve bumped into decent numbers of smaller reef fish here – think butterflyfish flitting about and plenty of cardinalfish tucked into the rockwork. You might even spot a saddleback clownfish or two if you're patient. It’s not going to blow your mind with massive schools or dramatic topography, but for a convenient local dive, it does the trick.
